Tara began her career in Denver, Colorado working on regional scale visual impact assessment studies for energy and transportation corridors. She then spent several years working with a large multi-disciplinary firm on an array of projects including site planning and design for corporate parks, urban plazas, commercial office buildings and mountain resort development.

During her years in the west, she developed a keen interest and expertise in designing with drought tolerant, native and sustainable plantings.  She has expanded and carried this knowledge of natural systems forward in all of her work. Tara relocated to Connecticut and expanded her career designing private and therapeutic landscapes. With a strong commitment to the connection between nature, landscapes and public health, Tara designed the award winning, nature based SOL (Sequential Outdoor Learning) Environment as a way of addressing the needs of the over one million children with autism. Tara generously volunteers her time on a pro-bono basis for many community oriented projects. Tara recently formed the Friends of Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial (501c3) and serves as the foundation's President to ensure the vision and stewardship of the memorial endures.
